What are the qualifications for Citizenship/Naturalization?

To qualify for U.S. citizenship, an applicant must: have been a U.S. permanent resident  for 5 years (3 years if applying based on marriage to a U.S. citizen), be a person of good moral character, be 18 years of age, meet the physical residence requirements for citizenship and pass the literacy, U.S. history and government tests.
